Senior Night is a memorable and meaningful senior tradition for Harris County High School Athletes and their families. It celebrates the culmination of years of hard work and commitment, and recognizes each senior’s contribution to the team and to the HCHS program, celebrates their athletic achievements, and acknowledges the support of their family and friends.
This past week two Senior Recognition Programs were held and the first being held on Tuesday Sept. 23rd and recognized the seniors on the Varsity Volleyball Team in the HCHS Gym. During the ceremony the seniors lined up with their escorts (parents, siblings and grandparents) and when their names were announced they entered with their accomplishments being read as they entered. The following are the seniors that were honored by Head Volleyball Coach Kasey Mobley and the Coaching Staff and their future plans :
Allie Southerland, Allie’s plan is to attend Brewton-Parker College pursing a degree in Nursing and continuing her Volleyball career.
Kaylen Mahone, Kaylen plans on attending the University of West Georgia to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.
Christina Diamond, Christina plans are to attend Columbus Technical College pursuing a degree in Radiology specializing in Ultrasound.
Sloane Kauffman, a degree in Psychology from the University of West Georgia is Sloane’s plan after graduation.
Avery Brown, Avery’s future plans are to become a Physical Therapist.
Kyla Estes, Kyla’s plan is to pursue a degree in Dentistry from either Gulf Coast College or LaGrange College.
Sydney O’Neill, Sydney plans on attending the University of West Georgia pursuing a degree in Early Children Education.
Wednesday Sept. 24th found Head Softball Coach Brandon Jenkins and his Coaching Staff honoring their seniors on the softball field. Again we find a large gathering of family and friends all waiting to honor their seniors. As the announcer called their names the senior and their escorts moved from second base to home plate as the announcer continued to state their individual accomplishments.
The following are the seniors that were honored by Head Softball Coach Brandon Jenkins and his Coaching Staff and their future plans:
Ivy McCormick, Ivy’s plans are to attend Columbus State University pursuing a degree in education to teach in Harris County.
Gracie and Lanie Guthrey, Both Lanie and Gracie plan are to attend Coastal Georgia
Riley Huckaby, Riley plans are to continue her athletic career in college next fall.
Madelyn Carey , Madelyn’s plan is to pursue a degree in Biology and become an Anesthesiologist.
