We Are Protected No Longer
Before proceeding, last week I received an email that in the subject line contained the words “truth in advertising”. Like most of you, I am bombarded with spam and delete all of it before looking at real email messages. That is what I did and as my finger hit the delete button, I noticed those words – but it was too late, message gone. If any of you sent such a message, my apologies and please send it again.

Now onward …
We must start protecting ourselves.
Through two world wars and various other conflicts, this county has benefitted from the protection provided by two oceans. With the exception of the country’s earliest years, those two oceans have prevented invasions from hostile nations. We do have common land borders with two countries, but neither have the military resources or desire to attempt such a feat.
The age of intercontinental ballistic missiles dramatically reduced the protection those oceans provided, but the threat of mutually assured destruction was responsible for keeping a balance which prevented that from happening.
Times have changed and we are now being threatened from within — and it is entirely our own fault.
With the ongoing situation in Iran, some of that country’s radical Muslim leaders have suggested that terror cells are present in our country and ready to be activated.
The terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001, provides ample proof that radical Muslims have no reservations regarding the killing of innocent people. Other incidents, shootings and bombings on a lesser scale, provide more evidence.
If there are undiscovered terror cells in this country, they can strike anytime, and no place is safe. They can instigate a huge event in a major city or bring death and destruction to any small city or town.
Under the Biden Administration, illegal immigrants were flooding into this country, making any sort of background checks impossible. Not all illegal immigrants are bad people, but it only takes a few at a time to create a huge presence – or a terror cell.
It must also be realized that not all terror cells would be composed solely of legal or illegal immigrants. Such cells can be homegrown, composed by those who believe they have been marginalized, which might be their own fault.
THE question must be asked, can Iran really muster terrorist cells to attack within America? The answer is: very likely because of that huge influx of people that were never properly vetted. They dissipated into the huge pool of people that is America, which provided them with a degree of anonymity to do whatever they wanted.
The threat is truly unprecedented in our history and unfortunately there are not enough law enforcement officers — local, county, state, or federal — to track down all potential terror cells as they can be anywhere and everywhere.
We must all become more aware of our surroundings and more vigilant about what is going on around us. If you see something, hear something, or know something that arouses concern or tickles that inner alarm bell, let authorities know.
The oceans no longer provide protection so it might be suggested that you should always be prepared to defend yourself and your family.
That’s my opinion.
